Sandra Thompson was raised on a farm in Springfield where agriculture was the key ingredient to family life. Being surrounded by agriculture her entire youth, it only seemed fitting to marry into another farming family. She moved to Long River, where she still resides with her husband and two daughters.

As a community oriented individual, Sandra has been involved with Women's Institute, the Church, Bowling, as well as being an active participant in the 4-H program. She has retained the role of Overall 4-H Club Leader for three years, and is currently in her twelfth year as a Project Leader where she has taught such courses as cooking, sewing, and gardening to local youth. In 2001, Sandra received a Volunteer Award from the French River 4-H Club.

Prior to her time at Shipwright's, Sandra was employed for ten years at the Kensington Water Gardens, where she cared for and managed the grounds. It was during this time that she participated in a Landscaping Course offered through TIAPEI.

As Shipwright's begins its eleventh season, Sandra is anticipating the start of her fifth year where beauty and bounty knowingly await.
